What is an architectural site plan?

‎An architectural site plan is a detailed drawing that shows how a building or group of buildings will be positioned on a piece of land. It acts like a map of the project site, combining architectural, structural, and landscape details to give a clear overview of the entire property layout.

🔹 Here’s what it typically includes:

Property boundaries – outlines of the land/plot.

Building footprint  – the shape and position of the proposed or existing structures.

Setbacks – distance between the building and property lines (as per regulations).

Access and circulation – driveways,  parking areas, walkways, and roads.

Landscaping – trees, gardens, lawns, and outdoor features.

Utilities and services – water supply, drainage, electricity lines, septic tanks, etc.

Topography – contour lines or elevation points to show land slope.

North arrow and scale – orientation and measurement reference.
